Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake Advocate for Tribal Sovereignty at Attorney General Alliance National Summit

Upper Lake, CA – Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake Chairwoman Sherry Treppa represented the Tribal community on a panel at the Attorney General Alliance’s national summit on March 27, 2024.

“The Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake know our sacred responsibility is to honor our ancestors by caring for our ancestral home and lands. We know the path to protecting our homeland and strengthening our tribal community’s future is through inter-sovereign cooperation,” said Sherry Treppa, Chairwoman for the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake Tribe.

Chairwoman Treppa was part of an esteemed panel titled Navigating Inter-Sovereign Cooperation.  The panel was moderated by Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita.  In addition to Chairwoman Treppa, the other panelists were Clay Smith, American Indian Law Deskbook Senior Editor at CWAG, and Brian Martin, retired sheriff-coroner in Lake County, California.
